This vector defines the Electric field vector direction used when performing the q->0 limit in the evaluation of the dielectric function.
Tips & Tricks
- in a bulk system your results will not depend on the direction of this vector, so you don't need to modify its default value
- in a higly anysotropic system you have to be careful when you choose the direction of this vector. In one dimensional systems such as nanowires the absorption depends on the polarization of the light. So, for example, to study the absorption for ligth polarized along the axis of the wire, the direction of the electric field has to be parallel to the axis as well.
